Seven boys. Best friends. Their fates intertwined through the good times together, and also through the tough times, as they have grown up side by side. That premise is intimate and tense, and the series builds its drama on the bonds of a close group and the cracks that appear as they grow older. The strength is the ensemble. The friendships feel real, and the individual stories give the group texture. The full-colour art is moody and the tension is steady. The weaknesses are clear. The dark turns can be heavy, and the cast can be hard to track. Readers wanting a lighter friendship story may find it intense.Recommended for fans of intense coming-of-age dramas about friendship. Expect a tense, emotional ride.
