The year is 12,090 A.D., and what little is left of humanity has finally crawled out from the ashes of war and destruction. From the darkness of the fallout, mutants and a race of other beings emerge. The premise is a stylish sci-fi-horror adventure about a dark-cloaked hunter in a world that has been left to ruin. The strength is the atmosphere. The future is gothic and bleak, and the hunter's cool, enigmatic presence gives the story a memorable mood. The action is sharp and the designs are striking. The weaknesses are about the run and tone. The story is compact, so its world is only sketched, and the darkness can be heavy. Readers wanting a sprawling tale may find it brief.Recommended for fans of stylish, gothic sci-fi. Expect a moody, sharp read that rewards its atmosphere.
