Sweet Home

Sweet Home opens with a premise that is hard to forget. Short version: people trapped in a crowded building face a crisis that turns the outside world into a nightmare. The first stretch is the strongest part, with tight pacing and a constant sense of threat. The creature and character designs are unsettling in the best way, and the art sells the claustrophobia. Where it stumbles is the middle, when the tension spreads across more threads and some of the early momentum slips. The tone is relentlessly bleak, and that can make longer reading sessions feel heavy. Characters are sketched with varying depth, so a few feel more like plot tools than people. Still, the core idea is sharp and the early chapters are gripping. For readers who want survival horror that gets straight to the danger, this is a solid pick. Those who prefer warmth or lighter pacing should look elsewhere.
