KILL la KILL

Two fiercely fighting schoolgirls are at the centre of a campus ruled by force, and a transfer student with an unusual blade is about to upset the balance. That premise is pure shonen spectacle, and the series does not hide its love of over-the-top fights. The hook is loud and clear from the first chapter. The strength is the energy. The fights are kinetic and inventive, and the central rivalry gives the battles personal stakes. The heroines are fierce and confident, and the chapters rarely slow down. The weaknesses are clear. The fan-service is heavy and sometimes distracting. The plot can feel secondary to the spectacle, and readers who want a deeper story may find it thin.Recommended for fans of loud, flashy battle manga with fierce heroines. Expect fan-service and nonstop spectacle.
