At the National Local Mascot Festival, children all across Japan can meet their favourite local mascots. But as the festival gets underway, something goes wrong. That contrast between cheerful spectacle and rising horror is the hook, and the series builds tension quickly. The strength is the premise. The festival setting gives the horror a bright, unsettling edge, and the pacing is fast. Each new development makes the danger feel more immediate. The weaknesses are clear. The gore and body horror are intense, and the short run keeps arcs brief. Readers wanting depth may find the story more fierce than thoughtful.Recommended for horror fans who enjoy a fast, unsettling premise. Expect graphic moments and a tense ride. Its quieter moments reward readers who give it time.
