Okitegami Kyouko no Bibouroku

Kakushidate Yakusuke is twenty-five and cursed with a habit of stumbling into crime scenes, where he always ends up as the main suspect. His last resort is Okitegami Kyouko, a detective famous for speed. The premise is a mystery comedy built on a bad-luck man and a brilliant but unusual investigator. The strength is the pairing. The contrast between a stressed suspect and a sharp detective gives the cases a lively energy. The puzzles are clearly laid out, and the reveals are satisfying. The weaknesses are about repetition. Each case follows a similar shape, and the lead's constant misfortune can wear thin. Readers wanting a darker, more serious mystery may find it light.Recommended for mystery fans who enjoy a comedic duo. Expect tidy puzzles and a playful tone.
