Smokin' Parade

In a future where organ transplants are common and available to all, the promise of an idyllic world turns out to be shaky. A criminal organisation is turning that technology to its own ends, and only an elite squad has a real chance to stop it. The premise is sharp and cynical, and the series commits to it with a sense of urgency. The best quality is the high-concept idea. The futuristic setting makes the crime feel like a natural extension of the world, and the squad gives the story a clear sense of purpose. The action is energetic, and the stakes are easy to follow. The weaknesses are clear. The violence and body horror are intense, and the series does not hold back, which may be too much for some readers. The plot can feel pulpy, with some twists arriving quickly.Recommended for readers who like dark, cynical sci-fi action with a high-concept hook. Be ready for grim scenes.
