Hotaru Tachibana is a girl (though all too frequently mistaken for a boy!) with a deep sense of justice. When a classmate informs Hotaru that she was bilked out of her cash by a shady host at a host club, Hotaru immediately rushes to confront the villain only to discover that the con man in question is her new neighbor! Worse, he proposes to settle their feud with firearms! Okay, it turns out that they're just toys, but when Hotaru is soundly defeated, she finds herself sucked into the world of survival games. Is this new world one she can actually escape?? (Source: Yen Press)

Hotaru Tachibana is a girl with a deep sense of justice, and she is often mistaken for a boy. When a classmate is cheated out of money by a shady host, Hotaru rushes off to confront the culprit. The premise is an over-the-top comedy about one stubborn person refusing to let injustice slide. The strength is the energy. Hotaru is loud, determined, and funny, and the story moves at a bright pace. The mix of action, sports and slapstick keeps the chapters lively, and the tone is never dull. The weaknesses are equally clear. The chaos can grow exhausting over a long stretch, and the gags repeat in familiar patterns. Readers wanting a more grounded story may find it too loud.Recommended for fans of hot-blooded comedy with a determined heroine. Expect a fast, noisy ride with plenty of laughs and a few too many repeats.
