Hoard Verdict

The StoryHoard editorial verdict

★ 3/5

A yokai action-mystery where two partners with hard-won powers team up to hunt renegade spirits, and both of them carry real costs.

Pros

  • An unusual partnership with a clear sense of cost
  • Yokai hunting gives the action a fresh hook
  • Quick, tidy chapters make for an easy read

Cons

  • The mystery threads feel thinner than the action
  • The comedy and romance tones can pull against each other
