Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata: Koisuru Metronome

A famous author who has run dry of creativity meets an average otaku, and an unlikely relationship grows out of their need for each other. The premise is a spin-off that looks at the awkward push and pull between a writer and the person who helps her find her voice. The strength is the banter. The two leads trade sharp, funny lines, and their friction is the engine of most of the comedy. The story also has a sincere interest in how creative work feels from the inside. The weaknesses are in the tone. Some ecchi moments feel awkward, and the story sometimes assumes familiarity with the source. Newcomers may find the set-up thinner than fans will.Recommended for fans of romcoms about otaku culture and creative work. Expect a chatty, mixed read that is most rewarding if you know the parent series.
