Joshi Kausei

Who needs dialogue when you are this cute? The premise is a silent manga about three high-school girls, each with her own personality, sharing everyday moments with no speech bubbles at all. Pictures, sound effects and expressive faces carry the whole story, and that alone makes it an unusual read. The strength is the format. The art is cheerful, and the visual gags land because the reader has to read every reaction. The three leads have clear, easy-to-spot personalities, which helps the silence feel friendly rather than empty. The weaknesses are equally clear. The series has very little plot, and that can make chapters blur together after a while. Readers who want character development or a strong story may find it thin.Recommended for readers who enjoy slice of life and want something different. Expect a light, playful read that works best in short doses.
