Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

Yuuta Togashi suffered from chuunibyou while he was in middle school. When he graduated, he put that dark history behind him and forgot about it, or so he was supposed to. The premise is a romcom about an embarrassing past catching up with a boy who wants to be normal, with a heroine who refuses to let him forget. The strength is the humour. The story is self-aware and sharp, and the comedy about teenage delusion lands well. The romance is sweet, and the cast is lively. The weaknesses are about the familiar beats. Some gags repeat, and fans may recognise the premise from the source. Readers new to the franchise may need some time to settle in.Recommended for readers who enjoy witty, self-aware romcoms. Expect a sharp, sweet read that is best enjoyed in steady doses.
