Fujimura-kun Mates

Fujimura is a loner delinquent at his school. Feared by his classmates since the first day of high school, he has had no friends. That premise is a classic delinquent set-up, and the series plays it for loud, broad comedy. The contrast between his fearsome reputation and his lonely reality is the hook. The strength is the energy. The slapstick is quick and loud, and the lead's softer side gives the comedy a little warmth. The gags land often enough to keep the chapters moving. The weaknesses are clear. The female-harem elements dominate much of the humour, and the gags repeat across chapters. Readers wanting a sharper, more grounded comedy may find it uneven.Recommended for fans of loud, broad delinquent comedies. Expect a noisy, uneven ride.
