Space Brothers is a hopeful, meticulously researched space drama built on a childhood promise. Two brothers once looked up at the stars and made a vow together. Years later the younger one is an astronaut chosen for a long-term base on the moon, while the older one has just been fired and decides to trust himself one last time. A message from his brother sends him applying to become an astronaut too. The story is detailed and educational about the training and the work, and the ensemble of candidates is warm and distinct. The sibling bond is the heart of the series, and its hope feels earned. The honest cons: the long run can feel slow in its training arcs, and the technical detail can be dense for newcomers. Some side characters get less attention. Still, it is a moving, grounded story about effort and second chances. If you love stories about the people who work toward impossible dreams, this is essential.
