A boy and a girl are forced to join hands for all eternity. In a land ravaged by an epidemic known as Troy, the only people with healing arts capable of stopping the seizures can save it, but they must be bound together. The premise is an adventure-comedy about an odd couple whose fate is tied by magic. The strength is the pairing. The forced bond gives the two leads plenty of comic friction, and the adventure in a plague-ravaged land is energetic. The fantasy setting is well sketched. The weaknesses are about the formula. The forced-bond premise is familiar, and some gags repeat. Readers wanting originality may find it predictable.Recommended for fans of playful odd-couple adventures. Expect a fun, light read that is best enjoyed as a treat.
