Old Home no Haibanetachi

The series follows a young girl named Rakka, a newly arrived haibane, an angelic-looking being, and other characters in the city of Glie, a walled city with a single entrance. The premise is a quiet, mysterious drama about belonging and the strange rules of a closed community. The strength is the atmosphere. The city feels hushed and enclosed, and the art is soft and textured, giving every scene a dreamlike stillness. The emotional questions about who the residents are and why they are there are handled with real tenderness. The weaknesses come from the pace. The story is very slow, and it deliberately withholds answers, which may frustrate readers who want a clear plot. The series is short, so some threads are only lightly explored.Recommended for readers who enjoy contemplative, atmospheric stories. Expect a gentle, haunting read that rewards patience.
