Double House

From the creator of Pietà comes the story of a connection between two women who live in the same apartment building. Maho, a trans woman, saves Fujiko, a girl from a difficult situation. The premise is a short, tender drama about kindness, belonging and the quiet ways people find family in unexpected places. The strength is the sensitivity. The story handles its characters with care, and the friendship that develops feels genuine. The art is restrained, which suits the subject. The weaknesses are about scope. The story is very short, so the relationship has little room to grow, and some scenes are slight. Readers wanting a longer arc may find it brief.Recommended for readers who enjoy short, humane stories about friendship. Expect a gentle, thoughtful read that is best appreciated in one sitting.
