Shadow Star☆

Shiina Tamai, an energetic sixth-grader, found a star-shaped creature on the seabed during a visit to her grandparents' house. That opening is charming at first, and then it turns strange. The series builds its unease from the way a small wonder becomes something far more disquieting, and the premise lingers in the mind. The strength is the mood. The eerie tone builds slowly, and the child's bright perspective makes the dark turns more unsettling. The seaside setting gives the story a memorable texture. The weaknesses are clear. The sci-fi mechanics can feel vague, and some chapters are slow. Readers wanting clear answers may find the ambiguity frustrating.Recommended for readers who enjoy eerie, atmospheric sci-fi with a child's point of view. Expect a quiet, unsettling read.
