Najika is a great cook who likes to make meals for the people she loves. But something is missing from her life. When she was a child, she met a boy who made her a promise, and that promise is the emotional thread that runs through the series. The premise blends food, longing and a childhood memory that still shapes her choices. The strength is the cooking. The food scenes are lovingly detailed and make the dishes feel real. Najika's kindness and drive make her easy to root for, and the school setting adds a lively backdrop. The weaknesses are clear. The romance can feel predictable, and some arcs are drawn out longer than they need to be. Readers wanting a more intense drama may find the tone gentle.Recommended for fans of food-centred shoujo with a sweet emotional core. Expect a warm, comforting read.
