ES: Eternal Sabbath

Ryousuke Akiba calls himself ES, a name taken from a mysterious experiment. He is expected to live for two centuries and has strange mental powers, including the ability to enter people's minds and discover their darkest secrets. The premise combines psychic abilities with the question of what it means to be human. The strength is the mood. The series builds an uneasy, thoughtful atmosphere, and the psychic scenes are imaginative. The tone rewards readers who like to think while they read. The weaknesses are real. Some stretches move slowly, and the science and fate themes can feel heavy-handed. Readers wanting fast action may find the series too deliberate.Recommended for fans of cerebral sci-fi who enjoy psychological tension. Expect a slow-building, moody series that asks more questions than it answers.
