Marika's Love Meter Malfunction

Confessing to my childhood friend Marika was impossible for someone as unpopular as me, so I did what any desperate boy would do and wished upon a shooting star. When I woke up, the dream had come true. The premise is a supernatural romcom about a wish that turns a shy confession into an unpredictable situation. The strength is the comedy. The wish gives the story a clever engine, and the narrator's self-deprecating voice makes for some funny moments. The tone stays light and easy to follow. The weaknesses are about the romance. The central gag repeats often, and the emotional side of the relationship can feel shallow. Readers wanting a stronger love story may find it thin.Recommended for readers who enjoy quick, goofy supernatural romcoms. Expect a light, cheerful read that stays fun in short bursts.
