Wakaba is cocky, condescending, foul-mouthed, and absolutely in love with her childhood friend, Daiki. For as long as they’ve known each other, Wakaba’s been the very image of a roughhousing tomboy, but all that’s about to change. When she shows up in front of him, wearing a cutesy, feminine outfit, will she get the hopeless late bloomer’s heart racing? When you can’t put your feelings into words, an image change might just be the right gambit! (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)

Wakaba is cocky, condescending, foul-mouthed, and absolutely in love with her childhood friend, Daiki. For as long as they have known each other, she has been unable to say what she really feels. That contrast between her bravado and her heart is the hook, and the series plays it for bright, funny comedy. The strength is the lead. Wakaba is loud and easy to laugh with, and her attempts to hide her feelings give every chapter a comic pulse. The childhood-friend history adds warmth. The weaknesses are clear. The tomboy-rivalry dynamic can repeat over time, and the romance moves slowly. Readers wanting faster progress may find the pace frustrating.Recommended for fans of brash, lovable leads with a hidden soft side. Expect a loud, funny ride.
