Appointed as a saint merely to secure political power for the crown prince, Ariel Celestin knows certain death awaits her if she is ever found out to be a fraud. Desperate to avoid that fate, she must keep her secret. The premise is a fantasy romance built on deception, power and the constant fear of exposure. The strength is the tension. Ariel's fear and her determination make her compelling, and the political stakes are high. The sense of a secret that could end everything keeps the reader on edge. The weaknesses are about the early stage and tone. The series is still releasing, so its arc is incomplete, and the melodrama can be heavy. Readers wanting a light romance may find it intense.Recommended for fans of tense political fantasies. Expect a nerve-wracking, still-developing read.
