Consumed by the flames of a burning castle, an aged butler is reincarnated as the younger version of his incompetent master, Duke Aaron of Brahn. That is a delightful reversal: the loyal servant now finds himself in the young lord's place, with a second chance to do the job properly. The premise is built on loyalty, regret and the chance to set things right. The strength is the heart. The butler's sense of duty gives the story a warm centre, and his determination to correct past mistakes is easy to root for. Full colour brings the court and battles to life, and the pacing keeps the chapters moving. The weaknesses are clear. Court politics can feel familiar, and the incompetent-lord arc is well-worn in the genre. Readers who want a truly fresh plot may find the twists predictable.Recommended for fans of second-chance fantasy with a loyal, earnest lead. Expect familiar beats and warm loyalty.
