Lew's aimless and mundane existence in the vibrant Willton City changes dramatically one rainy night. He gains the power to trade, and the premise is an original, morally loaded twist on the power-up story. The series builds its tension on the question of what a person will give up in exchange for what they want. The strength is the concept. The trading power is inventive, and the moral grey zones give each deal real weight. The full-colour action is gritty and clear. The weaknesses are clear. The economic-trade premise can feel complex, and the long run can drag. Readers wanting a simpler story may find the rules hard to track.Recommended for readers who enjoy morally complicated power fantasy. Expect a gritty, deliberate ride.
