Rin here. Being thrown into a dungeon by your own party is a rotten way to start a story, which is exactly why it works. Dion is a healer who is left to die, and he saves a wounded dragon with the last of his strength. The dragon turns out to be a divine being, and that reversal is the hook. The partnership is the best part. Dion and Eldora make a fun pair, and their banter drives most of the early chapters. The story has a light, adventurous energy, and the comedy has plenty of bounce, with the healer's steadiness playing nicely against the dragon's grand bluster. The limitations are the story's lightness. The stakes can feel soft, and the gags sometimes repeat instead of building. The fantasy world is more backdrop than active part of the plot. Still, it's an easy, cheerful adventure for readers who like exiled-hero tales with a warm partnership at the centre. Keep your expectations modest and enjoy the ride.
