The Detective is Already Dead

Here's a mystery series that never sits still. A young man who gets dragged into trouble for a living finds himself in a supernatural case that's already gone sideways. The premise is clever, the pace is quick, and the jokes keep the investigations from feeling heavy. The strength is the balance. The mystery beats give the story a clear hook, and the comedy keeps the mood light even when things get strange. The lead's reactions are often the funniest part, and the supernatural elements fit the tone without overwhelming it. It's the kind of read that goes fast. The weakness is focus. The plot wanders across a lot of threads, and it can be hard to tell which one matters at any given moment. The tone also shifts between goofy and serious, which can feel uneven if you prefer one or the other. If you like mystery with a supernatural bent and a lot of energy, this is worth reading. Don't expect a tidy structure, and enjoy the ride for the chaos it creates.
