Kijima-san & Yamada-san

Kijima-san became telepathic after an accident, and now he works alongside Yamada-san, a woman whose thoughts are always loud and very lovey-dovey. Day after day he hears her feelings, and that is the basis of a romcom. The premise is a clever comedy in which mind-reading turns every workplace moment into a source of humour. The strength is the concept. The telepathy gives the comedy a fresh engine, and Yamada's unashamed feelings are funny. The two leads have easy chemistry, and the story has a warm, friendly tone. The weaknesses are about repetition. The gag of hearing her thoughts can return often, and the romance builds slowly. Readers wanting more depth may find it light.Recommended for fans of clever, light romcoms with a supernatural twist. Expect a cheerful, funny read that is best enjoyed in short bursts.
