There are always sixteen heroes. Among them is the Darkness Hero, Shion, the strongest hero in history. Shion has only one thing he believes in: his party members. However, those he trusted have betrayed him. The premise is a dark fantasy about a hero who turns his back on the world that betrayed him, and forms an unlikely partnership with a monster. The strength is the alliance. The idea of the strongest hero teaming up with the strongest monster is striking, and the story gives their bond a rough sincerity. The fights are bold and punchy. The weaknesses are about the violence and the formula. The violence is frequent, and some arcs follow familiar revenge patterns. Readers wary of brutal content may find it hard going.Recommended for fans of dark, revenge-driven fantasy. Expect a loud, violent read that rewards its unusual partnership.
