Lady to Queen

Betrayed by someone she held dear, Rizi's previous life ended with the fall of the guillotine, or it would have, had she not woken up three years in the past. The premise is a revenge-driven fantasy in which the heroine knows exactly how the story will turn, and she intends to change it.The strength is the heroine. Rizi's anger and resolve give the story a strong emotional engine, and her gradual reclaiming of control is satisfying to follow. The court politics are sharp and the stakes feel real. The weaknesses come from length. The story can repeat its cycles of plotting and betrayal, and some twists are easy to see coming. Readers who dislike heavy melodrama may find it too intense.Recommended for fans of revenge fantasies with a determined heroine. Expect a dramatic, emotional read that rewards patience.
