Tama's Reward

Raised in all-girls schools through elementary and middle school, Kano has a particularly strong fascination with boys. Finally enrolled in a co-ed school, she sets out to explore that curiosity. That premise is a playful, earnest comedy, and the series builds its humour on the gap between Kano's wide-eyed enthusiasm and the ordinary reality of school life. The strength is the warmth. Kano is endearing in her eagerness, and her misunderstandings are funny without being cruel. The school setting gives plenty of small comedic moments. The weaknesses are clear. The premise can feel thin, and the series is still releasing, so its arc is early. Readers wanting a deeper romance may find it light.Recommended for fans of sweet, funny shoujo with an earnest lead. Expect a light, cheerful read.
