Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi

Rin was born with an incurable disease, and she spent her high school years hiding it from almost everyone. The narrator came to love her during that time, and the story is about the last months they share together. The premise is a bittersweet romance built on the weight of a secret and the courage it takes to keep living fully. The strength is the sincerity. The story handles its heartbreak with restraint, and the quiet moments between the two leads hit hard. The festival and concert scenes give the romance a warm, bright counterpoint. The weaknesses come from its sadness. The tone is melancholy from start to finish, and readers wanting a lighter love story may find it draining. Side characters get limited room to grow.Recommended for readers who enjoy tender, tearful romances. Expect a sad but sincere read that stays with you.
