Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei
Also known as: 進化の実~知らないうちに勝ち組人生~, The Seed of Evolution ~Before I knew it I was one of the champions~
by Sorano, Miku
Hiiragi Seiichi is an ugly, revolting, dirty, smelly fatass; these are the insults hurled at him one after another about his appearance. Such was Seiichi's daily school life of bullying, then for some reason, one day when school was out, a voice claiming to be a God said over the PA system to prepare to be transported to another world. What's more, not Seiichi alone, but the entire school. A fantasy world where game-like elements such as as levels, stats, and skills exist. However, the God still had preparations to complete for the transfer, and would send them over as soon as the hero summoning ritual was ready. The classes all formed groups to wait for the transfer, but Seiichi alone was discluded and as such was summoned to a different area. After being transported the first thing Seiichi ate was the "Fruit of Evolution." This would come to greatly change his life... This story is about how Seiichi went from being severely bullied by his classmates, even not being recognized for his accomplishments, and despite all that staying positive and surviving in this new world. As a result, he somehow becomes one of the champions. (Also the first heroine is a Gorilla?!)

The StoryHoard editorial verdict
A parody-flavoured isekai where a bullied student is given a divine gift, though its harem and power-fantasy beats feel familiar.
Pros
- A clear underdog premise with a fun power-up arc
- Parody touches land at times
Cons
- The harem and polyamory tags sit awkwardly with the underdog tone
- The plot follows a familiar power-up formula

Daily life at school is a grim routine of bullying, until a voice claiming to be a god comes over the school PA system and changes everything. That is a bold turn for an underdog story, and it promises a classic power fantasy. The premise has energy, and the parody elements give it a playful edge. The strongest part is the underdog arc. The lead's climb from the bottom rung is satisfying to follow, and the power-up beats are clear. Some of the parody lands well, and the comedic tone keeps the chapters brisk. The weaknesses are clear. The harem and polyamory tags sit awkwardly with the story's underdog tone, and the plot follows a familiar power-up formula. Readers may find the romance elements more distracting than engaging.Recommended for isekai fans who enjoy an underdog power fantasy. Be prepared for the harem elements.
