Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, is whisked away to a whole new world. Unfortunately for Sei, the ritual that summoned her—meant to produce a “Saint” who would banish the dark magic—brought two people over instead of one. And everyone prefers the second girl over Sei?! But this is just fine by Sei, who leaves the royal palace to set up shop making potions and cosmetics with her newfound magic. Business is booming, and this might not be such a bad life, after all…as long as her supposed Sainthood doesn’t come back to haunt her. (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)

Kai here. This is a light, structured story, and it is at its best when it is quietly practical. The protagonist is an office worker pulled into a new world by a summoning ritual that went wrong, and she responds not with tears but with a business plan. That grounded instinct is the hook. The slice-of-life pacing suits the material. Making potions and cosmetics gives the story a clear, rewarding loop, and the economics of the market are treated as more than set dressing. Her dry, sensible inner voice keeps the tone steady. The weaknesses are predictable. The romance builds slowly, and some of the palace drama is resolved with tidy turns. The supporting cast is pleasant but thinly drawn, and there is little real tension beyond outside obstacles. It is a comfortable read that rewards patience, and it is most satisfying for readers who want the joy of watching a plan come together.
