Dungeon Hoiku

Dungeon Hoiku is a dungeon comedy that refuses to take itself seriously, and that is why it works. The hook is simple: a salaryman's ridiculous death leaves him with a bargain that means building a dungeon full of monsters. The first monster he raises is a level 1 goblin girl, and she sets the tone for everything that follows. Expect light, fast chapters with a lot of goofy energy. The monster-raising angle keeps things fresh, because every new arrival feels like a small event rather than another fight to grind through. The cast is the highlight, with the monsters carrying most of the personality. The gags start repeating once you get past the early chapters, and the story does not push its stakes very hard. If you wanted heavy dungeon-crawling action, this is not it. But if you want something quick, cheerful and easy to binge, it delivers. It is a comfort read more than a masterpiece, and it is honest about being that. Pick it up for a few laughs and plenty of monster cuteness, and you will not feel cheated.
